On January 22, 1973 (aka 51 years ago today), the U.S. Supreme Court made a landmark decision in the case of Roe v. Wade, ruling that the Constitution of the United States generally protected the right to have an abortion. This historic decision established the legal right to choose to have an abortion under the constitutional right to privacy.

In June 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. In response to the pain that many in America were feeling about this change, Molly Smith, Artistic Director Emeritus, gathered eight playwrights to produce My Body No Choice, a series of monologues derived from women’s personal experiences.

During the production of My Body No Choice Arena set up a “Whisper Wall” for audiences to share their stories, thoughts, and feelings in response to the overturning of Roe v. Wade as well as in response to the monologues they saw in the Kogod Cradle.
